How it works

  • Maintain — a flavonoid antioxidant that supports connective-tissue and capillary integrity and helps regenerate the antioxidant activity of vitamins C and E

  • Sense — scavenges reactive oxygen species that would otherwise damage cell structures

  • Exchange — as a flavonoid glycoside (quercetin bound to the sugar rutinose), rutin requires gut-bacterial cleavage of that sugar group before its aglycone, quercetin, can be absorbed -- meaning rutin functions partly as a delivery form for quercetin itself, with overlapping downstream mechanisms

  • Maintain — historically studied for supporting capillary fragility and venous tone, one of the original 'vitamin P' bioflavonoid research threads from the mid-20th century that indirectly shaped how flavonoids are studied today

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
