Strong evidence exists only at prescription lithium carbonate doses for bipolar disorder, a different product and dose entirely. Low-dose lithium orotate is emerging/contested, sold unregulated with real renal-clearance safety flags and no well-characterized human dose-response.

How it works

  • Adapt — at pharmaceutical doses, lithium inhibits GSK3-beta, a signaling enzyme tied to gene expression and cellular stress adaptation; trace/orotate doses have not been shown in human trials to reliably reach this mechanism

  • Maintain — rodent and cell-culture data suggest neuroprotective and neurotrophic effects, not yet established for low-dose lithium orotate in humans

  • Regulate — prescription-dose lithium carbonate (600-1200 mg/day) has decades of solid RCT evidence for mood stabilization in bipolar disorder — a different drug and dose than a trace supplement

  • Adapt — population/observational studies associate trace lithium levels in drinking water with mood outcomes, an emerging, non-causal signal distinct from the clinical bipolar evidence

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
