AMINO ACID

Green-lipped mussel (omega-3/ETA)

Amino Acid — also: ETA, Perna canaliculus, Potent-Sea

One ingredient, seen the whole way through: what it is, how it works, the honest evidence, the form that matters, the systems it touches, and the studies behind it.

EmergingCell

Emerging — modest human joint-comfort trial literature exists; none of it establishes cure or reversal of joint disease. Part of the Potent-Sea blend, not yet independently reviewed citation-by-citation in the brain.

How it works

  • Maintain — ETA (eicosatetraenoic acid) is proposed to inhibit lipoxygenase/cyclooxygenase inflammatory pathways, supporting joint-tissue maintenance

  • Exchange — omega-3 fatty acids incorporate into cell membrane phospholipids, shifting eicosanoid balance

  • Build — glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and chondroitin sulfate provide structural building blocks for cartilage matrix

  • Sense — New Zealand green-lipped mussel is unusual among omega-3 sources for containing ETA alongside EPA/DHA in a fixed natural ratio rather than as an isolated, standardized single fatty acid, meaning whole-mussel extracts and purified ETA products are not necessarily interchangeable in dose or ratio

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
