How it works

  • Transform — an essential electron carrier in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, directly supporting ATP production

  • Maintain — the reduced (ubiquinol) form is a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects mitochondrial membranes and LDL particles from lipid peroxidation

  • Process — brain tissue is energy-dense and mitochondria-rich, so supporting cellular energy output is mechanistically linked to sustained cognitive stamina

  • Exchange — as a fat-soluble molecule with a long isoprenoid tail, CoQ10 is absorbed slowly and modestly via the same route as other fat-soluble nutrients -- blood levels rise substantially more from the reduced ubiquinol form or from reduced-particle-size ('nano') formulations than from standard ubiquinone powder, the mechanistic reason delivery form is emphasized on this ingredient's label

  • Transform — endogenous CoQ10 synthesis shares its first committed step (HMG-CoA reductase) with cholesterol synthesis in the mevalonate pathway, which is the direct mechanistic reason statin medications -- which block that same enzyme -- are associated with lowered circulating CoQ10 levels

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.

On CoQ10 specifically: CoQ10 exists as ubiquinone (oxidized) and ubiquinol (reduced); ubiquinol and reduced-particle-size 'nano' formulations raise blood levels more reliably than standard ubiquinone powder, which is why delivery form is called out specifically on this label.
